Proving it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
During the spring, summer, and early autumn of my life this side of heaven, my high-school-sweetheart husband and I struggled and triumphed through life’s peaks and valleys. After raising two children, welcoming four grandchildren–one is with the angels–buying a Corvette, and ticking off every item on our travel bucket list, I asked What’s next? The answer for me? Following twenty-seven years in six different management positions with an international beauty company, I launched career number two as a novelist. My corporate experience working with hundreds of amazing women from all walks of life, inspires me to create stories about women who face challenges in the pursuit of their dreams.
While writing two manuscripts, studying the craft, attending conferences, and connecting with other writers, an idea took root; a story about two strangers whose lives are drawn together by a tragedy and a secret. I wanted one woman living in Atlanta so I could use real locations and the other in a small north Georgia town struggling to survive. Three years after I first typed the words “Chapter One”, I signed a contract with Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas, Guiding Light imprint, for book one in the Willow Falls series. The Secret of Willow Inn released January 10, 2019. Book two in the series releases January, 2020. Book three is a work in progress.
Although I write five days a week, Tim—my best friend and number one fan—and I continue to celebrate our fifty-plus-year marriage. We lead a small group, volunteer for church guest services, participate in two social organizations, and spend time with family and friends. I thank God for the blessings that brought me joy and the challenges that continue to strengthen my faith, skills, and resolve.
I was born in Illinois and grew up in Orlando before Disney arrived. We’ve called Georgia home since the eighties. Tim and I live in an Atlanta suburb and are members of Gwinnett Church, a Northpoint Ministries campus. I am a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, Word Weavers International and CRW.
